Which brings me onto an update on some planned future projects which will hopefully happen over time. I hope at some point in the near future to get a digital sound recorder and create an MP3 Download Library of various zoo sounds. My girlfriend has some sounds from Chester on her phone, so if I can get the files off then I will post them first. I also hope to get a new compact camera at some point [hopefully there is something that combines the two] and I will be adding video to my zoo reports. I hope to have these before a planned trip to the Cotswolds - however I may not get the chance beforehand. I will try and have one or the other, or use my girlfriends phone for some videos.
So, here is a selection of videos from Twycross Zoo (Nov. 2009):
Twycross - November 2009
Chilean Flamingo (Phoenicopterus chilensis) swimming.
Macaroni penguins (Eudyptes chrysolophus).
"They're not tigers," - they're Slender-tailed meerkats
(Suricata suricatta)
Chinese dhole (Cuon alpinus alpinus).
Asiatic lion (Panthera leo persica) females play fighting.
Asian small-clawed otters (Aonyx cinerea) feeding and swimming.
Siamangs (Symphalangus syndactylus) calling.
In future, I will try and get more video (of better quality and length as well). Keep checking back as the blog is updated with life-lists etc. I have plans to be on Chester Zoo's member's day on the 9th April, so again look out for a report on the 10th or the 11th.
